Education
Psy.D. Clinical Psychology, Pacific University, 2004
M.S. Mental Health Counseling, Eastern Washington University, 2000
After
completing dual bachelor’s degrees in psychology and communication studies, I counseled adolescents and families
for two years before finishing my master’s degree in mental health counseling. Working with families provided
me a strong understanding of family systems and how family of origin, parenting, and familial and cultural factors can
impact individuals. While a master’s degree student, I trained at the YWCA working with women at the domestic
violence prevention center, and spent a year interning at Eastern Washington University’s counseling center and at Odyssey,
a drop in support center for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Questioning youth and their allies.
My clinical psychology doctoral schooling was completed at Pacific University’s School of Professional
Psychology, where I gained invaluable experience and training specializing in treating adults across a wide cultural and individual
spectrum. I focused a number of years of working with students at several colleges and universities in the northwest, including
Lewis & Clark College, Washington State University, University of Oregon, and University of Puget Sound. Currently, in
addition to my therapy practice, I am employed in a diversity and multicultural affairs office and work with students with
disabilities to ensure that they have reasonable accommodations. My therapeutic specialty is working with adults who are seeking
to better understand themselves, improve their relationships with others, and address mental health issues that are impacting
their personal satisfaction.
